South 8 is hiring its first Supply Chain Planning Lead to own and execute the material plan that keeps battery cell production running across multiple integrated sites. This person will translate production schedules into supplier forecasts and purchase orders, and make sure the right components are at the right site in the right quantities on time. This is a hands-on role at a company where the planning processes are still being built; the role will be responsible for running today’s models and making them better as volume grows.

We are looking for a skilled, dependable, and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician, to join our team in the Bay Park area of San Diego, CA. In this role you will help support personnel on necessary tasks including cleaning glassware and materials hardware, building battery test cells, basic electrical wiring, building and operating hardware fixtures, running routine mechanical tests, data collection, and maintaining an organized working environment.

The Chemical Engineer will work across the South 8 team to characterize and support production, new electrolyte formulations, processing methods, and scale-up operations while working with pressurized electrochemical fluid systems. They shall further support research operations by assisting in design, build, maintenance and operation of equipment and battery cell architectures. Use optical, mechanical, electrical characterization techniques to support development and work to research and procure tools and equipment towards these goals. This is an incredibly exciting, dynamic work environment with several parallel projects with various timelines.
